One thing I really respect about Lan Wangji is that he'll break the rules, while accepting the consequences for it, and he teaches his juniors this as well. He encourages them to think for themselves, but not to be disrespectful about it. The juniors understand the rules and are able to think about their applications critically in part thanks to Hanguang-Jun's guidance, and I think that's the hottest thing about him.
